REMNANT, Black and White Vintage Kimono Ikat Wool from Japan 1-1/2 YARD PIECE #438

From Japan, true rich dark black and bright white ikat, kasuri style. Thin, slightly crisp wool or wool blend with some body and no drape. This is a vintage, never used bolt probably designed for mens' winter kimono. A beautifully woven true ikat, it's the same front and back and no two of the little white shapes will match exactly. It's not in our opinion rustic; we don't see slubs or imperfections and it's more consistent than many handwovens. Both the black and the white are consistent and strong in color. For wool it's thin and light. Doesn't feel scratchy but also doesn't seem like it has much or any synthetic. 14" wide, from the never-used, carefully stored vintage kimono fabric bolt.  Japan.
